Challenge
Our client manages a 5 star resort in one of WA’s most desired tourist destinations. After initial discussions it was evident that there were two key challenges impacting our client’s ability to successfully place and keep skilled team members. These issues included:
- Seasonal tourism driving significant fluctuations in demand for staff
- Geographic proximity to a pool of suitable job seekers
Our client had tried a variety of different measures to combat these challenges however these measures proved to be even more detrimental to the business, resulting in:
- Significant costs being incurred
- Hassles and distraction for the management team in the day to day running of the business
- Providing costly housing and transport for up to 50 staff
These results meant that the effect on the financial performance of their business was not only the quantifiable cost (amounting to several hundred thousands of dollars a year), but also the unquantifiable effect of the distractions experienced by the management team.
Solution
